3 trending AI technologies in the Healthcare industry.

In a cutting-edge healthcare environment, you'll find three prominent AI technologies on display. The scene presents a surgical procedure conducted by a robotic arm, a healthcare app interface on a smartphone, and an iPad seamlessly managing bedside patient care and data.

AI in the healthcare industry

As the world becomes increasingly committed to exploring and implementing emerging technologies, the healthcare industry stands to be one of the first to benefit.

Many believe that AI can be harnessed for good if developed and utilized ethically. AI should promote diversity and equal opportunities for all, and its decision-making process should be transparent for accountability and trust. Many predictions are based on types of AI technology that don't actually exist yet. However, a recent study found that existing AI technology has the potential to save the US healthcare industry up to $360 billion per year, or 10% of annual healthcare spending.

Despite the apprehension, the benefits of AI include the expansion of Medicaid and increasing access to healthcare for all.

Here are three technologies that have been harnessed to help in the healthcare industry:

1. Monogram aims to launch the first active-cutting robotic surgical assistant on the market to install their personalized, 3D-printed joint implants. That’s perfect timing, considering 50% of joint replacement surgeries will involve robotics by 2030. They even showed off their robot’s potential with a live surgery on a cadaver in front of a 5,000-person digital audience this year.
In a world where 100,000 joint surgeries fail every year, there’s never been a greater need for Monogram’s tech. The healthcare industry recognizes the potential of such technologies to revolutionize surgical procedures and improve patient care. By embracing these emerging technologies, healthcare providers can offer enhanced treatment options, improve surgical outcomes, and potentially reduce costs associated with complications and lengthy recovery periods.

2. TigerConnect: TigerConnect is a relatively new app that operates in a similar manner to WhatsApp but with a focus on healthcare communication and collaboration. Just as WhatsApp enables instant messaging, voice calls, and file sharing among its users, TigerConnect offers similar functionalities tailored specifically for healthcare professionals. The app facilitates secure and efficient communication within healthcare teams, allowing them to exchange information, discuss patient cases, and coordinate care more effectively.
TigerConnect ensures that healthcare professionals can easily download and access it on their mobile phones. This process involves providing instructions, assistance, and support to enable seamless adoption of the app across healthcare organizations. By embracing this technology, healthcare teams can streamline their communication, reduce response times, and enhance overall patient care coordination.

3. iPads: iPads have recently been introduced at the bedside in healthcare settings. This initiative aims to leverage the capabilities of these devices to improve the documentation and management of patient information. With iPads readily available, nurses can conveniently capture images of wounds or other relevant visual data and upload them directly to the electronic healthcare record (EHR) system. This integration of iPads into bedside care facilitates quicker and more accurate recording of crucial patient data, enhancing communication among healthcare providers and improving the continuity of care.
